A Swan is part of the geese family they are large and white and need big bodies of water to be able to take off and land. Swans have 3-8 eggs in a clutch, when they are born they are called Signets they able to walk, run and swim straight away.  When they are young they have many predators eg, owls, foxes, some other birds, even pike fish this is due to their size and inability to fly yet.

Usually when the sun starts to come out properly at the beginning of the year so do the babies.  After lots of fighting and chasing off its time for new life to begin.  Babies are everywhere ponds, lakes, farms, and feilds.  I love going out with my camera at this time its very special and who doesn't like to see a baby animal.
